Diaper Recycling Technology Launches Generation 6 In-line Recycling Technology

POSTED ON: July 14th, 2018

Technology can convert hygiene waste back into the raw material stream.

Diaper Recycling Technology has released its Generation 6 in-line recycling equipment platform. The newly developed technology is designed to convert hygiene factory waste back—including pulp, SAP and PE/PP—into the original raw material streams. Ongoing research and development efforts are underway to expand the newly developed technology into the post-consumer waste sector, and additional efforts are focused on an ongoing improvement effort to continuously improve the technology platform.

Generation 7 upgrades will be predominantly focused on increased process reliability and achieving new levels of operator friendliness. Upgrades include heavy-duty long-life bearings, stiffer mechanical components and easier operator access for both ongoing, inspection and maintenance activities. The power and control systems are fully integrated into the processing module reducing installation effort and new state-of-the-art coatings are incorporated within the design to reduce and eliminate cleaning efforts. The majority of the generation 7 platform will be manufactured from aluminum versus mild steel, the primary driver for this material change reportedly due to reduced environmental loadings and recyclability friendliness of aluminum.
