Diaper Recycling Technology Commissions Factory Waste Recycling Machine
Diaper Recycling Technology (Singapore) has successfully built and commissioned its first large scale factory waste recycling machine. The new technology converts clean QC rejected diapers back into their original material formats, SAP, pulp and plastic. This is a significant milestone for the company as this achievement amalgamates the learnings of a significant R&D effort into a single machine and also scales the process from 80 KG/Hour to 400 Kg/Hour.
The response to the new technology within the hygiene industry has been positive with new orders already being received for their Generation 8 machines. Factory expansion work takes place shortly in Singapore to extend from one to four assembly bays.
Ramon Escano, sale director, comments: “Due to the processing performance of the new technology the demand for production slots is currently being addressed so as to not to have any negative impact with our customers.”
Martin Scaife, CTO, comments: “Our R&D and engineer teams were very happy when we were able to operate the main recycling process below 10 KW whilst achieving a pulp and SAP extraction rate of 99.7%. Our focus on the Gen 8 technology has been to ensure our customers can operate a risk-free recycling operation. New automated pulp scanning technology which can also be added to Gen 7 platforms ensures only clean fibers without contaminants such as ear-plugs are sent back to the core-forming process. The other main focus has been the use of PTFE and other non-stick materials to enable the process to run 24/7 without the need for cleaning.”
